The Function and Straightening Process of a Straightener
A straightening machine is a device used to straighten metal profiles, bars, tubes, wire, and other materials. A straightening machine uses straightening rollers to compress the bar or other material, changing its straightness. It typically has two rows of straightening rollers, with varying numbers of rollers. There are also two-roller straightening machines, which straighten materials of varying diameters by adjusting the angles of the two rollers (the middle one is concave, or hyperbolic). Major types include pressure straighteners, balanced roller straighteners, shoe roller straighteners, and rotary reversing straighteners. So how does straightening work exactly? The rollers are positioned at an angle to the direction of motion of the product being straightened. Two or three large rollers are active pressure rollers, driven in the same direction by a motor. Several smaller rollers on the other side are driven pressure rollers, driven by friction against the rotating bar or tube. To achieve the desired compression, these smaller rollers can be adjusted forward or backward, either simultaneously or individually. Generally, a greater number of rollers results in a higher precision of the straightened product. After the product is bitten by the roller, it continuously makes linear or rotational motion, so that the product undergoes various deformations such as compression, bending, flattening, etc., and finally achieves the purpose of straightening.
