The S 250 G is a newly launched, fully functional continuous generating and forming gear grinding machine from SAMPUTENSILI (SU), a world-renowned manufacturer of gear machine tools and cutting tools. This high-efficiency gear grinding machine, suitable for mass production, integrates the advantages of CNC and fully automated technologies, achieving high efficiency, high intelligence, and high rigidity. It can perform various gear grinding cycles and fully meet the mass production needs of gears of grade 5 and above. It is the result of active collaboration between the R&D and manufacturing departments of SU's Italian and German branches.

Currently, this machine tool boasts the highest production efficiency among gear processing machines on the market, which is advantageous for the selection of gear machining tools. Due to its more compact structure than most machine tools, the gears to be processed can be simulated under the control of the S 250 G machine tool. The S 250 G machine tool is not only fully equipped but also incorporates the latest technological advancements in gear production.

For gear grinding machines, the most crucial component is the grinding spindle. The spindle moves along a low-friction guide rail, and the relative movement between the two is achieved via a ball screw spindle. The motor has a power of 48kW and a speed of 20,000 r/min, and can be equipped with temperature sensors and a real-time position measurement system depending on the application. Synchronization between the grinding wheel and the workpiece is controlled by a Siemens CNC system and a magnetic encoder with thousands of degrees of resolution. Furthermore, the spraying of cooling oil is not only always aligned along the tangent point between the grinding wheel and the workpiece, but is also determined by the diameter of the grinding wheel. The tangent point position parameters are automatically compensated for as the grinding wheel wears.

The S 250 G continuous generating gear grinder's advantage lies in its automated monitoring system. The machine is equipped with modular loading and unloading robotic arms. With these arms, the machine can be directly integrated into the production line. Since all workpiece processing actions require no additional equipment, users can begin production immediately upon acquiring the machine, without any modifications. This significantly saves time and money.

To minimize non-productive auxiliary time, the workpiece is pre-aligned automatically on a separate worktable before entering the working area, ensuring it is already aligned with the spindle during grinding. This means that only minor adjustments to the spindle are needed to significantly reduce non-productive time. The robotic arm is designed for speed and safety. During grinding, the robotic arm automatically retracts from the working area. After grinding, the arm removes the finished workpiece and inserts the next workpiece into the worktable for grinding. This protects the robotic arm from chips and oil contaminants during grinding, making it more durable than other automatic loading and unloading systems.

The S 250 G is primarily used for high-volume gear production to meet customer demands for quality, processing time, and cycle time. When using ceramic worm grinding wheels, dressing can be achieved via an electroplated diamond dressing standard wheel or a swing dressing unit with traditional dressing rollers. The dressing standard wheel completely replicates the gear's precision, ensuring error-free operation. Using the dressing standard wheel is much easier, as dressing is achieved through the standard generating motion of the grinding process. No additional software, reprogramming, or other processing is required before dressing on the machine tool. While grinding the workpiece, the electroplated diamond dressing standard wheel is in a standby position on another worktable and can be moved into the working area as needed. The standard dressing roller method is highly responsive to small batches, urgent orders, and bottlenecks in grinding wheel supply.
